Make no mistake: Iran's assault on Jerusalem over the weekend is really just Joe Biden's proxy war against the Netanyahu government and the state of Israel.
From the first day of his pathetic administration, Biden has attempted to prop up and enrich the murderous mullahs at the expense of Israel and America.
Biden reversed Donald Trump's robust policy that had targeted Iran over his four years in office. From enforcing serious sanctions against the terrorist-funding regime to embracing domestic oil exploration and production which drove the global price of oil down to engineering multiple "Abraham Accords" which saw a handful of Arab nations normalizing relations with Israel, Trump had systematically driven Tehran into a financial crisis and a metaphorical, isolated corner in the Middle East.
All that changed with Biden's inauguration. By reversing multiple sanction enforcement regimes, Biden oversaw billions of dollars flowing back into Iranian accounts which then went directly to Hamas and Hezbollah. By halting new oil permits in America, Biden triggered a spike in global oil prices, further enriching the Iranian regime. And his recent public scolding of Netanyahu sent the signal to the world that it was permissible to demonize and target our most important ally in that region.
There's no doubt about this.
Biden's Secretary of State has confirmed that Iran uses their money to fund terrorists so by their own admission, the Biden cartel has laundered money through the sanctions regime and the international oil market delivering funding for terrorist activity.
Michael Oren, former Israeli Ambassador to the US, explained further in an Op-Ed in The Free Press:
Historians writing years from now about the Middle East conflagration of 2024 will undoubtedly ask, “When did it all begin?” Some will point to the Bush administration which, demoralized by its inconclusive wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, rejected Israel’s entreaties to take out Iran’s then-inchoate nuclear program in 2008.
Others might cite Israel’s willingness to play by the mullahs’ rules, retaliating against their Hezbollah and Hamas proxies rather than against Iran itself, enabling it to emerge from each round of fighting utterly unscathed.
But the bulk of the blame, fair historians will likely agree, will have to fall on the policies of those in Washington who sought to appease Iran at almost any price and ignore its serial aggressions.
Additionally, Reuters is reporting that Biden and his team had advanced warning about the attacks and communicated their tacit approval through envoys in Turkey:
Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, a Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters on Sunday, adding that Washington had conveyed to Tehran via Ankara that any action it took had to be "within certain limits."
Turkey, which has denounced Israel for its campaign on Gaza, said earlier on Sunday that it did not want a further escalation of tensions in the region.
The Turkish source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had spoken to both his US and Iranian counterparts in the past week to discuss the planned Iranian operation, adding Ankara had been made aware of possible developments.
Just last month, five months after the October 7 terror attacks funded by Iran, the Biden Administration waived sanctions on Tehran and allowed an additional $10 million to the murderous mullahs that, no doubt, helped finance this attack on Jerusalem. (Free Beacon)
The waivers, which were last renewed in August 2023, expired at the beginning of 2024. They provided upwards of $10 billion in profit for Russian-state controlled firms, such as the Rosatom energy company, for work at Iran's various nuclear plants, including contested military sites suspected of housing the country's atomic weapons program.
Yet the Biden administration will not commit to enforcing those sanctions now that the waivers have expired. A State Department spokesman would not say why the waivers were allowed to expire and told the Washington Free Beacon that officials are still "reviewing the waiver as part of the regular review process" and that a public comment will only be given "once a decision is made as part of that review." The response is fueling questions on Capitol Hill as Iran advances plans to invest at least $50 billion in its Russian-made nuclear plants.
Here's the deal...
When Trump became president, he cut off all of the so-called "humanitarian aid" to Hamas because he saw that it was not being used for humanitarian purposes. He robustly enforced the sanctions regime against Iran and put pressure on our allies to divest from Iran and stop buying their oil. He moved the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and communicated to the entire Middle East that Israel was our ally and if they wanted to do business with America, they better figure out their issues with that country.
Lo and behold... the Abraham Accords ushered in unprecedented peace and cooperation with Arab nations who suddenly couldn't remember why they refused to let Israeli planes land at their airports.
Biden came in, reversed everything Trump had done (except the embassy move because even his anti_israel advisers recognized that would be suicide) and the next thing you know, Israelis are being slaughtered on their territory near Gaza and Iranian missiles are raining down from the skies over Jerusalem.
What a difference an election makes. November can't come soon enough.
